Halanj Protectorate

The Halanj Protectorate was established during a time of growth
in Ildurath, a period known as the First Expansion. The population
of the academy, and the size of its land, was growing rapidly and
the academy could no longer defend well enough its borders with the
resources it had available or hope to establish the necessary protections
needed for a burgeoning territory.
The First Expansion saw an influx of the Elven people into Ildurath,
indeed of all the races that came to the academy during this time
the Elves were by far the most numerous. Most were moon Elf, though
a few gold Elves could be found here and there scrutinizing for the
first time what was being built along the Sword Coast in the name
of the Elven people.
Mixed in with the new arrivals were a few that had in their veins
the blood of House Nae C’lshrian. They had come from Evermeet
to see what it was that their cousin was building and had been seduced
by tales of an academy of magic that was to become the next great
Elven kingdom – tales that were being spread throughout the
island nation they had come from.
Three of the bloodline of Nae C’lshrian came to Ildurath during
the First Expansion, scholar-warriors all, and they offered their
talents where they thought they could best be of service. They formed
the Halanj Protectorate, a group within Ildurath dedicated to establishing
a defensive position for the academy and its newfound lands. They
would stabilize borders; create patrols of capable Elven warriors,
and help to bring about a protocol for the safety of the land.
The three members of House Nae C’lshrian responsible for the
establishment of the Halanj Protectorate are:
- Aermhantharul Nae C'lshrian
- Belahd Nae C’lshrian
- Thii’Ahnae Nae C’lshrian
Over time, the Halanj Protectorate would come to be seen as the
knighthood of Ildurath and would be the channel for the development
of elite scholar-warriors known as Vanguards.
