The Mythal of Ildurath

The Elven people are beginning to return to the main continent,
the flight to Evermeet has come to an end. The Elves seek a place
of refuge, a place of warmth and honor where their people can flourish,
where the promise of a new age can take hold. The Elven Nation has
decided it is time to bring back the glory of their lost empires,
to re-establish their hold on the land and to emerge as a guiding
force in the world. Ildurath will lead the way to this brighter future;
the birth of its mythal will establish Ildurath as the next great
Elven Empire.
Reminiscent of the mythals created by the Elven Empires of long
ago, the Mythal of Ildurath is a power the likes of which has not
been seen in the world for millennia. It is a power tied to the land
and rooted in the souls of its people. It is a living, breathing,
spirit; a force dedicated to the protection and well being of the
empire.
The Great Tree, th’Lanthalas, is at the center of the mythal.
Its magnificent structure towers over the land, bringing warmth and
a feeling of awe to all who look upon its mighty branches. The Great
Tree acts as a reminder of the potential inherent in all of us.
The Mythal of Ildurath is an epic level spell, developed over years
of research and through the secrets provided by High Elven Magic.
It covers the entire land of Ildurath, an area that spans over 410
miles west to east and 180 miles north to south, making it one of
the largest mythals ever created in the history of the world. th’Lanthalas,
the Great Tree, is the center of emanation for the mythal and stands
over 500’ tall.
The ceremonies surrounding the casting of the mythal took place
over the course of an entire month, with hundreds of people (mostly
Elves) coming from all over Faerun to take part and to bear witness.
These ceremonies established a bond between House Nae C’lshrian
and the land of Ildurath. The Nae C’lshrian bloodline was forever
deemed the caretakers of the mythal, and the ruling house of the
future Empire of Ildurath.
Three separate rituals took place during this time, the first two
to prepare the land for the casting of the mythal, and the third
for the casting of the spell itself.
