The towers of Ildurath: The Tower of Silence

The Tower of Silence houses the part of the academy dedicated specifically to psionics and mental sorcery/wizardry, the manifestation of power through nothing more than mental prowess and force of will. Eliantyr Nae C’lshrian, the elder of House Nae C’lshrian, sits at the head of this tower.

The tower acquired its name because of its strict adherence to the primary rule of this part of the academy – there is no verbal communication allowed anywhere in the tower. All communication must be done through the manifestation of powers and/or telepathically. The punishment for breaking this rule is quite severe. In addition, various magical wards have been erected throughout the tower to subdue other forms of noise. Consequently, very little sound of any kind is ever heard.

The Tower of Silence is located along the eastern most edge of Ildurath, near the River Chionthar, where it is largely isolated from the rest of the academy.
